Paper Analysis of CLAT 2019
NLU, Odisha conducted
CLAT 2019 on May 26 between
3:00 pm to 5:00 pm in offline
mode. More than 54000 candidates appeared for the examination. As
per PRATHAM'S test takers and experts, the difficulty level was easier than
last year, thus cut off is likely to go high than the previous year.
CLAT 2019 Analysis
The law entrance examination had
200 questions with five sections – English,
General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Elementary Mathematics, legal aptitude
and Logical Reasoning. Each question had a weight-age of one mark
and a negative marking of one-fourth marks for each incorrect answer.
1. English
This
section was little lengthy but easy. 10 questions were from reading
comprehension which were very easy. other questions were
from re-arranging the sentence, foreign words, idioms, para jumbles
and sentence correction.
2. General Knowledge and Current
Affairs
This section was a straight forward section. The
paper was of medium level. most of the questions were from the current affairs
such as science and technology, sports, awards and honour etc. 2-3 questions
were as it is from AILET, 2019. Maximum questions of current affairs were from
the month of March-April. Most of the questions were from the Pratham study
material.
3. Elementary
Mathematics
This section was of medium level and 70 to 80% questions were of doable nature. The questions were from percentages,
profit and loss, TSD, time and work, calendars etc.
4. Legal Aptitude
As per PRATHAM experts, this
section was of easy level but very
lengthy with 50 legal
reasoning questions based on
Contract, Jurisdiction, Torts. There was also repetition of questions from
previous year papers with slight change in their given principal. There were no
questions from constitution. Unlike AILET, 2019 there were no questions from
legal current affairs. Also there were no questions from assertion- reason and
legal maxims.
5. Logical Reasoning
This section was easiest of the lot. It consisted
of 2 puzzles which were very
easy. Other questions were from Syllogisms, blood relations etc
