First woman external affairs minister aged 67 years served
her fourth term in Lok Sabha fearlessly and she is having a number of firsts
under her belt left after her sad demise. Former external affairs minister
Sushma Swaraj passed away in Delhi following a cardiac arrest on 6th
August 2019.
She has indeed been a prominent woman face to serve the
country from 26 May 2014 to 30 May 2019 with confidence. Battling throughout
the polls she has not only proved to be a valiant rival but she also has her
name embossed on everybody’s hearts. Sushma Swaraj carried the nation with easy
agility and graceful actions becoming the most effective and successful leader
nation has ever had.
She has set up lightening over the internet is the most
followed female leader in the world on Twitter. Sushma Swaraj of BJP had been
light-hearted and cheerful with all her decisions which she portrayed smartly
and firmly.
Sushma Swaraj was the woman people had all eyes on whenever she spoke for the well being of the country. Her apex care and concern for the people of India have not gone in vain even today because of her profound actions that shaped the country into a better place to live. youngest Cabinet Minister
After striding towards her career with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in the 1970s, this gallant woman became the country’s youngest Cabinet Minister in 1977 at the age of 25. Since then she has proved to be a powerful orator who got vehemently attached to her profession. Being an eloquent and skilled person she served as people’s minister during the period of her professional life. Handling the department of Labour and employment in Haryana and later the Department of Education, Food and supplies, the ‘Supermom’ has looked after the welfare of people at a very young age.

Sushma Swaraj was a law graduate and was primarily an advocate by profession. She sincerely practised law from the Supreme Court of India in all her conscience. Later her earnest career in politics began as a student leader in early 1970s. Proficient with laws, she has proven her ability to deserve the power of decision making.

Sushma has undoubtedly broken the stigmas related to
women by becoming the first female spokesperson of a national political party
in a country where patriarchy prevailed. Reaching out to the population of

She has supported many distressed citizens to assure their visa extension when in need. She once offered help to a stranded British couple in Mumbai asking the UK government to issue a passport for their 5-month-old infant daughter Lily who took birth through surrogacy in India. Apart from framing foreign policies, she had been moved by people’s plight of distress and has left her legacy of an easily accessible external affairs minister saving lives of people. She has set an example for other politicians to follow the path of selflessness and responsibility. Swaraj also helped a Pakistani girl Shireen Shiraz to grant a one-year medical visa for open-heart surgery.

Being the most ‘millennial’ minister of India, Sushma Swaraj also approached people from other nationality with her sanity and ready to help nature. In 2015, she gave out a helping hand to a Yemeni woman married to an Indian, who took the twitter by posting an image of her 8-month-old baby and made a request for evacuation from the conflicted area. Her humane and compassionate love for the people was also seen when she helped 168 Indians trapped in Basra, Iran. Her exuberance and authenticity being a minister used to win her a lot of appraisal from across the globe.

during Vajpayee government
During the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government, 1996 she served as the minister of telecommunications, information and broadcasting. During the non-biased governance, she became the lady declaring the film production field as an ‘industry’ giving it a relief from financial clutches gripping it. Apart from this pliancy, she got the Cabinet portfolio again after Vajpayee led the government to power 2 years later. Her remarkable challenging face was seen in 1999 when she contested election against Congress president Sonia Gandhi in Bellary. Swaraj was notably the first woman spokesperson of a
national political party as mentioned earlier. She had defined the use of
technological interventions following digital diplomacy with her active
presence on social media. She used to be fluent in both Hindi and English and
held many meetings with huge bodies like SAARC, ASEAN etc. She was
unquestionably a bold speaker as an opposition leader in Lok Sabha. She was
also awarded as the Best speaker by Haryana State Assembly for her speech
delivery skills. She rhetorically won many contests like debates, recitations
with her innate wit and language.

Politics is a game where opposition parties push each other and sometimes pull down each other in the neck to neck competition. But, Sushma Swaraj was the lady whose helping nature earned her appraisals even from across BJP party. Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Bhagwant Maan thanked her for doing an exceptionally good job to save people abroad. This happened when Swaraj swiftly acted upon the issue of 13 people of AAP constituency were made slave in Saudi Arabia and as a result of her actions, the people were saved and returned safely to the country. She was also applauded by other AAP members for her wise actions.

and smart working
With years of hard work, Mrs Sushma improved to be smart working. Although she was attached to the party ideologies and principles, she was ready to face the challenges coming up taking decisions smartly. Her composure and wisdom in decision making were last seen when she greeted Rajya Sabha members in voting in favour of government’s resolution to scrape off Article 370. With her areas of improvement in hard work she previously implemented a Students Registration module to track the number of students studying abroad making the work easier.

Sushma Swaraj’s loyalty and staunch is known through
her commendable and continuous support towards her party. She was entrusted
with crucial responsibilities because of her determination to vociferously take
on to the UPA government. Her activism and vigilance led her to play a vital
role in the party.
Sushma Swaraj’s demise has brought condolences from across the world. Politicians and the citizens have paid tribute for the resilient and determined lady who believed in being a humanitarian. Her talent and capabilities have spoken how irreplaceable she is which is why she is admired and respected for her greatness.
