SAAHO MOVIE REVIEW

Release date: 30 August 2019

Critics’ rating- TOI: 2.5/5

IMDb: 7.9/10

Genre: Thriller/Action

Right after two years of Baahubali: The Conclusion, Prabhas gushes back on the screens with yet another action thriller ‘Saaho’ helmed by Sujeeth starring Shraddha Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Chunky Pandey, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Mandira Bedi, Mahesh Manjrekar, Murali Sharma and Arun Vijay.

This movie has got mixed reviews and ratings from the audience since it didn’t pave its way through people’s expectations on the first day of release. The trailer created a huge hype amongst the public since the story, screenplay and dialogues are all framed by Sujeeth. T series had received a U/A certificate from the censor board with the runtime of 2.30 hours.

The movie follows a huge empire at stake with too many villains chasing it and the audience keeps on guessing who can be trusted. The director takes the viewer through a maze of action and thrill since the start. People have reviewed that the second half of the movie after the interval confused them and the screenplay built another level of commotion in the film. Whereas, the climax of the movie crawls in as salvation but this high budget movie gelled up the same clichéd story and low resonating narration as mentioned by the audience.

In an effort of delivering a thunderous performance, it was observed that Prabhas’s dialogue delivery seemed deliberately slow. As the next scene unfolds, slowly the sketched character of various actors shows up. Shraddha soon becomes the damsel in distress but her role in the movie didn’t gather a lot of attention maybe because of the screenplay and plot assigned.

However, the production team has left no stones unturned to deliver brilliance on par with the Hollywood standards. The movie strongly sticks to amazing, bold and mind grasping scenes with beautiful art directions. The technical effort has been applauded since the VFX works are stupendous.

Overall, the movie has cleverly been a pot-boiler with a Mass interval twist and good action sequences. The outstanding screen presence is the main element of the film that has created an insane hype amongst the audiences. This was Sujeeth’s much-awaited movie infusing action, thrill, romance and humour all in one.
