Maruti Suzuki’s much-awaited Mini SUV S-Presso launched
featuring its conceptualised design in India. The company has strived into
everybody’s attention in the last three years. This variant would be sold
across the world through its ARENA retail network since it sports around 10
special features for safety which is compliant of all safety regulations.
What caught
everybody’s eyes are the jacked-up entry hatchback like the Kwid or the KUV100
impressing people with the higher seating position offering a precise view
across the binnacle. Its bold look and inviting appearance fancied everyone.
This car aims at buyers who want to invest in a vibrant
combination of colours along with the interior of the car. There have been 6
variants on the offer in showrooms presented by Mr Kenichi Ayukawa who is the
managing director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India.
“At
Maruti Suzuki, we believe in the philosophy of ‘customer first.’ We continue
our endeavour to provide Indian customers with high-quality cars backed by
affordable pricing. Today’s global launch of S-PRESSO stands testament to our
commitment to offering best in design, technology and safety to our customers. I
am happy to share that S-PRESSO joins our BS6 range, as the 8th vehicle
compliant with new emission norms. We are confident that S-PRESSO will bring
excitement in its segment, attracting the ever-evolving young customer,” said
Mr Kenichi.
Exterior and Interior
Based on the Future S concept showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, Maruti Suzuki S-Presso has the proportions similar to the SUVs with an intact upright stance, increased ground clearance, bold claddings and vertical pillars. The face looks like Vitara Brezza’s with the similar tall front bumper while the 14-inch wheel fails to go along with the tall stance of the car!
While
the exterior has been finely proportional, Maruti has tried to make the
S-Presso interior fancy with the Mini Cooper layout in the central console. The layout looks fine with funky air-con vents. The cabin is quite practical that
offers pockets to keep the stuff inside on the passenger side of the dash.

This the entry-level car has got an infotainment unit in it and also has the Smartplay 2.0 of 7-inch touch-screen from the new WagonR and Baleno coming with Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto. The front power windows, HVAC, 12V power socket and the rear parcel tray add up to its features inside.

rpm and 90Nm of apex torque at 3,500 rpm related to a five-speed manual
gearbox. It also has an AMT unit which is optional on the VXI and VXI+
