2020 BMW M8 Revealed!

The most speculated, BMW M8 has been revealed as the sigil successor to the recently launched M6 is being the top line-up performance of the company. The M8 Gran Coupe is the introduction seen in the portfolio of BMW’s M8. The coupe or convertible car sports the twin-turbo V-8 and all-wheel-drive power-train from the M5 summed up with a whole new level of improvement.

Power

This coupe or convertible model pegged as a rival to the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4-door coupe produces 600 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. The car is powered by the 4.4 litres as seen in the models before while the competition models get an extra 17 hp. The exceptional performance of M8 coupe is elite and promises of being capable of 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds while the convertible is capable of doing the same in 3.2 seconds.

All the models of this car are electronically limited to 155 mph that goes up to 189 mph packed with an optional M driver’s package. The speed can be boosted from 250 kph to 306 kph once you’re well versed with the optional M Driver’s Package specifications.

Modes

Similar to the M5 model, M8’s all-wheel-drive system comes with three specific selectable modes:-

     1)    The 4WD setting for normal driving

     2)    4WD Sport setting igniting more power to the rear wheels

     3)    2WD mode only when stability control is turned off.

However, apart from these three major mode settings, the car comes with another M Dynamic mode which is an active rear differential work with the car that allows a tad bit of wheel slip for controlled oversteer.

Features

The frame and the suspensor have been overhauled to absorb more load of things like forged links, steel X-brace and a strut that connect the shock towers to the bulkhead. Each variant of M8 has been standardized with adaptive suspension alongside 20-inch alloy wheels and summer performance tires. The two-mode brake by wire systems is long emulating with a soft pedal trip in a single mode. Front and rear parts sport many aggressive bumpers with a blacked-out exterior trim with a standard reinforced carbon plastic roof.

The inside cabin of M8 Coupe has a new ‘setup’ button which controls the settings for multiple engines responses, dampers, steering, braking and x Drive systems. The M mode button we spoke about earlier, is in the centre console that allows the driver to steer through roads and the sport, mode adds up the tracking virtual function for competition models.

Price

The price of 2020 M8 coupe begins at $133,000 going up to $146,000 for the competitive ones. Get the drop-top version by adding $9500 to any of both. It is not yet confirmed whether the M8 Grand Coupe would make it to the Indian market or not but the standard 8 Series Gran Coupe is expected to pave its way to India by mid-2020. The 840i is expected to be priced from Rs 1.40 crore in India.
