Most Memorable Goals of Cristiano Ronaldo

“Talent Without Working Hard is Nothing”

Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro or Cristiano Ronaldo is a Portuguese football player, widely regarded as one of the world’s best and greatest footballers of all time. The synonym for football genius plays as a forward for Juventus, an Italian football club and is the captain of the Portugal National Team. He has played for Real Madrid as well as Manchester United previously.

Also known as CR7 (due to his popular jersey number 7), he has won 5 Ballon d’Ors, tying with Lionel Messi, another soccer superstar to whom he is often compared with, and has been nominated for the award 15 times (most nominations). He is the first player to win 4 European Golden Shoes and has won 27 trophies in his career.

Ronaldo holds the record for the highest number of goals in Europe’s top five leagues, UEFA Champions League, UEFA European Championship as well as the highest number of assists in the tournaments. He has scored a total of 700 goals in his senior career.

Some of his most memorable goals have been listed below:

The Header Against Chelsea (2008)

When Manchester United played against Chelsea F.C., Wes Brown passed the ball to Ronaldo and the forward’s header was outstanding. The header showed his speed and aerial prowess; even the goalkeeper had no time to block the ball before it landed straight in the net.

There is nothing stopping Ronaldo from scoring a goal, not even gravity.

The Free Kick Against Marseille (2009)

When Ronaldo joined Real Madrid after a transfer fee of £80 million from Manchester United, he took no time in showing that he was worth every penny. He scored a jaw-dropping free-kick while playing against Marseille FC in the UEFA Champions League group stage in 2009.

He was able to score the free kick from a position that was straight to the goal posts. It is normally not easy for the players to score from this position but we all know he is not a normal player.

The Dazzling Dribble Against Almeria (2010)

Ronaldo scored an impressive individual goal against Almeria FC in April 2010. He dribbled through the defence with such versatility that the spectators couldn’t help but compare his dribbling skills to Lionel Messi. Ronaldo showcased brilliant skills on the ball and scored another stunning goal.

The goal highlighted his tendency to beat the defence in unique ways.

The Stepover Against Schalke (2014)

During the 2013-14 Champions League, Ronaldo’s excellent control on the ball showed us a brilliant strike against FC Schalke. Ronaldo, known for his stopovers, swerved past Joel Matip (one of the players of an opponent team) after taking a pass from Gareth Bale and scored another phenomenal goal.

He proved once again that his speed, skills and power form a lethal combination.

The Hat-Trick Against Espanyol (2015)

Ronaldo went on to play four games without scoring any goal in September 2015, which was not up to his usual standards. However, in the match against Espanyol, his five goals more than compensated for his no-goal matches. He pulled off a 13-minute hat-trick in the game and Espanyol was demolished. It was Ronaldo’s 28th league hat-trick for Real Madrid.

The score was 4-8 to Real Madrid with five of the eight goals scored by the one and only, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo has given us so many bewildering goals that it’s difficult for us to remember them and write about all of them. And it looks like he will not be stopping any time soon; having just joined Juventus. His fans continue to cheer him and he continues to wow the spectators as well as his opponent team players.
